Queen Ceres Candidates Selected
Even though there is more than a little snow on the ground, Buckwheat Festival was on the minds of twenty Preston High juniors on Sunday. The girls were competing to become Queen of the 69th Annual Preston County Buckwheat Festival. For what is traditionally called the “mini pageant”, the girls presented a 30 second speech and were interviewed by out of county judges. The eleven selected will go on to compete for the title of Queen Ceres at the Buckwheat Royalty Pageant on May 5th.
